Use Case 2: Smart Remote Emergency Service

· 医团网 · 资讯

When someone is in danger outdoors, professional medical help is rarely at hand and every minute saved greatly increases the chance of survival. E-TeamMed enables local public medical systems to build affordable on-line emergency services: a dedicated emergency team stays in sync across hospital computers, ambulances and cell phones at all times.

The person in danger: dialing 119 connects the patient, ambulance crew, hospital doctors and other medical/public-safety staff from the very first minute. The phone becomes an emergency intercom and a Mobile MEDTAG — a digital medical tag recording injuries and treatment — while the dispatch center locates the person by GPS, reads their medical history, directs the ambulance and provides first-step self-aid instructions while family members are notified.

Emergency crews: on-board medical equipment connects wirelessly to the hospital, streaming the patient’s vital data so doctors can issue critical instructions en route.

Hospital & doctors: the emergency dispatch center arranges the right doctors immediately, joins the rescue on-line while the ambulance is en route, and prepares equipment before the patient arrives.

Vital-sign parameters and waveforms collected include ECG, blood pressure, blood oxygen, respiration, pulse and body temperature. The emergency center receives ambulance monitoring data continuously with latency ≤ 10s, and the receiving hospital displays it in near real time.
